The only thing I did differently was the type of stitch. My machine has a blindstitch, so I used that instead. So much faster than sitting down and doing the binding by hand!!!

Machine Quilt Binding
I have had a Levi quilt sewn together, but not finished, for 10 years! That's right...10 years! It was unfinished because I couldn't get up the energy to do the binding. (I only knew how to handsew binding). Not anymore! I found this great tutorial on machine quilt binding. I love it!!! I finally finished my Levi quilt!

Thankful Tree
My friend, Char, had this idea on her blog and I immediately LOVED it. It's called a Thankful Tree. We did it tonight with our family, and my kids had a lot of fun with it. I got some brown butcher paper from Robert's and cut out a tree.
Then we cut out some leaves with colored construction paper. Thanks Char for the leaf template. We each thought of two things we were thankful for and wrote those down on our leaves.
I cut up plenty more leaves so every night this month, we plan on thinking of things we are thankful for and adding those to our tree. It's a great way to teach my kids about Thanksgiving and get in the spirit of gratitude.

Pajama Pants, part 2
I finished the pj sets with the appliqued shirts.
I have lots of ideas for future pairs of pajamas. For now, my kids have plenty. Good thing they grow a lot and I'll just make those ideas next time!

Pajama Pants
We have a Christmas tradition in our family, that you get to open one present on Christmas Eve. Of course, that present is always pajamas! With Christmas around the corner, I decided to make some pajama pants for my girls this year. We went to the fabric store and I was going to have them pick out some flannel, but they didn't find any they liked. However, they did find some fleece, so that's what we got. These are my oldest daughter's.
I bought a plain pink t-shirt to go with it. If it was short-sleeved, I was going to add some long sleeves with the same fabric as the pants to match, but I could only find long-sleeved, so I think I'll just make an applique instead. I'll post pics when I get those done. I mostly just wanted to get this posted to remind those in our sewing group that this will be our project this month. This Thursday @ 7...the usual place. If you need the supply info, let me know. I don't have a pattern to reference because I just used a pair of my daughter's pajama pants to make my own pattern. Three seams, two hems, and an elastic waistband later you have pants. Easy!!
