Valentine's Chair Backers

Sewing group was the other night and this month we made Valentine's Chair Backers. Here's how mine turned out:
Found the tutorial over at Our Scoop. I made one for each of my children and love how they turned out. It will be fun to put little treats and notes in these for them to find Valentine's Day. The two with ruffles are for my daughters and the ric-rac one is for my son. I didn't follow the tutorial to make the ruffle part. Instead I made ruffles, pinned them in away from the seams and made the flap using the same directions as the ric-rac flap. It worked out well and made more sense to me. I love these and think they will be fun to use year after year!!!

  1. Those are adorable! They'll remember things like that long after they're grown.

  3. I have the tutorial at home for those cute bags. Love your's!! What material did you use for the red? I know the tutorial said she used wool felt. Just curious if you used the same or just regular felt?

  4. 4kids-
I did use the wool felt. You have to iron interfacing on to it, so I think craft felt would melt.

  5. Hi Tam! Love the cute Valentine Chair backers. So stinkin' cute! BTW, I tried your Tortellini veggie soup and Bowtie Chicken pasta and they were a huge hit with the hubster and kiddos! Thanks for sharing them!! I love the Chicken pasta dish. I think it will be in the regular meal rotation!

  6. Love your blog and love the chair backers, but found them too late to make them this year!

On a totally unrelated note, I have been looking forever for barstools just like yours! Can you tell me where you found them?
    Thanks.

  7. They did turn out great! I love mine too-the kids liked them, but didn't fully appreciate all my hard work and immediately tore into them for the candy. Do they ever appreciate it? *sigh* not really!
