Blog Swap: {The Scrap Shoppe}

I have another great blog swap for you today, but first a quick reminder that you only have 3 more days to get all my fabric for only $5.99/yd!!
Also, be sure to come back tomorrow to join the "Get Inspired" link party. It's a lot of fun to see what everyone's been crafting this week, plus it gives you one more entry in this week's giveaway from Scentsy!

Ok...take it away Michele!
Hello everyone! I'm Michele from The Scrap Shoppe.

Big thank you to Tam for having me on Sew Dang Cute today! I have to admit I was apprehensive about posting on this lovely sewing blog, because I have a big secret... Are you ready for this one? I don't have a clue how to use a sewing machine! But Tam reassured me that it was okay, and I can still show off some of my favorite projects.

First off, let me give you a brief background of myself. I've been married to my wonderful husband for 7 years, and we have an absolutely adorable 19 month old son (I'm not a bit biased about his cuteness!). I work full time as a biochemist at a large private university, but I'm a crafter at heart. I love to scrapbook, play with paper and fabric, garden, dabble in graphic design, and just let my creativity out whenever possible! I grew up with a mother that always had an "I can make that!" attitude and a father that supported her. I find that I'm a bit of a mirror image of her in that sense today!

Okay, on with the craftiness!

This may be one of my favorite projects to date! The monogram yarn wreath. You can find a tutorial on how I made it and a video tutorial for making the felt flowers on my blog.

I used mixed media on my monogram embroidery hoop (I have a thing about monograms...) to make a piece of artwork for my wall. I love merging my scrapbook supplies with other materials!

I'm in love with mini scrapbook albums (it takes me too long to complete a large one!), and I made this one from scrap cardboard. Its full of the first pictures of my son after he was born and before we brought him home from the hospital.

Now I admit that this fabric flower necklace involved some sewing. Hand stitching I can do. Its not pretty, but I can do it!

I do love to play around with the drawing program on my computer. Here I've made some cupcake toppers (be sure to visit my blog for a free download of them!) and shown various ways to use them other than just on your cupcakes!

I also love to offer tips when I come across something that helps me out with my crafting or even around the house. Did you know you can use distress ink to touch up marks on your wood furniture and stain small wood projects? Oh yeah!

And, last but not least, the reason I started this blog in the first place. Because of my love for scrapbooking I opened an online store several years ago to sell my scrapbook-themed graphic designs on t-shirt, buttons, mugs... you get the idea.

I shamelessly feature one design from my store every Tuesday in a segment I refer to as T-Shirt Tuesday.

I also have an Etsy store where I sell my graphic designs as digital downloads, as well as fabric flowers, and other scrapbook embellishments.

So that is myself and my blog in a nutshell! I do hope you'll come by The Scrap Shoppe and look around. Be sure to leave me a comment letting me know you saw me at Sew Dang Cute!

Thanks again, Tam, for letting me visit!

Wow thanks Michele! So many amazing projects!!! Do you see why I had complete confidence in her? INCREDIBLE!!!! Please go check out the rest of her site for even more wonderful creations!
