I love the fall!
I love the colors - the beautiful, warm oranges, yellows, and browns.

I love the smells - pumpkin scents are my favorite.

I love the crafts that abound.

I love the treats - candy corn, caramels, and Boston-baked beans remind me of this time of year.

But the pièce de résistance is the caramel apples. Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory sells theirs for $5 a pop, and I'm only 5 minutes away from one of their stores. However I find that a little steep, so every year in my family, we make our own instead.

Sure they aren't as pretty, but they are just as yummy! If you make your own as well, be sure you grab these wooden sticks from Orson Gygi.

Much better than popsicle sticks.

Usually we just stick with the Apple Pie (white chocolate with cinnamon and sugar).

This year we ventured out and tried Oreo,

Snickers,

and Toffee.

They were all tasty, but Apple Pie is still everyone's favorite.

Monday we are going on one last hurrah to the zoo, then visiting a pumpkin patch to let the kiddos pick their own pumpkin.

I'm sure will fit in a Witch Fest and Scarecrow Festival as well.

What fall traditions do you guys have?

The only tradition we have thus far is the pumpkin patch.

  3. The apples look good!!

We used to have a bundle of fall traditions... making apple cider with friends, pumpkin patches, fall soup parties... but then we moved to the desert and we just don't get fall here. The pumpkin patches are lame and soup just doesn't sound good yet. Sigh... I really, really, REALLY miss the fall!

  4. Don't leave out Wheeler Farm-they do some fun stuff in October. And the Scarecrow Festival at Thanksgiving Point. And This is the Place Heritage Park. I like fall! And drive up the canyons and collect leaves (or pictures of leaves). Ride the tram at Snowbird-awesome views!
