Calling all crafters!!!
There's a brand new contest in town.
Introducing "Crafting with the Stars".
Do you think you are pretty crafty or just really enjoy making things?
Do you enjoy pushing your creative limits?
Would you like the chance to work with a blogland "star"?
Then this is the contest for you. Here's how it works:
Auditions are now open. Submit 1 project that shows everyone your best stuff into the linky party at the end of this post. Projects must have been made September 1, 2010 or later, and must be your own work.
**At this point in the competition, it does not have to be your original idea. I understand that even making something with a pattern/tutorial can be difficult and demonstrate your talents. However, keep in mind that you want to stand out from all the other entries, so I would recommend entering something unique and original.**
You have until Friday, October 15th to enter. From the entries, 12 of you will be chosen as our contestants and paired up to work one-on-one with a Big-time, craft blog "star", to duke it out in a four-week competition to see who's the craftiest. Most of the "working together" will be via email (or in person if you happen to live by each other.) The "star" will mostly give suggestions, ideas, encourage, and help you come up with the best project possible. You will do the main part of creating. Each round will have a theme and eliminations, so be prepared to put your best foot forward if you want to survive.
You ready to see who they are? In alphabetical order, I'm thrilled to give you our 12 Crafty Stars:
1. Amy (The Idea Room)
2. Amy (Mod Podge Rocks)
3. Becca (Blue Cricket Design)
4. Beckie (Infarrantly Creative)
5. Char (Crap I've Made)
6. Cheri (It's So Very Cheri)
7. Heather (Dollar Store Crafts)
8. Jen (Tatertots & Jello)
9. Jill (Homemade by Jill)
10. Lorie (Be Different...Act Normal)
11. Michelle (Someday Crafts)
12. Shelley (How Does She?)
Awesome, right? Each of these women is incredibly amazing!!! Wouldn't you love a chance to work with the best and use their expertise? Then don't waste any time and get your projects ready and linked up. Remember, all entries must be in by Friday, October 15th 8pm MST. The 12 finalists will be announced Tuesday, October 19th.
If you enter the contest, please proudly display this button on your blog to send everyone over to check out your project. Who knows? The number of times your project is viewed might help your chances.

If you're not quite ready to join in as a competitor, but still want to join in the fun, grab this button for your blog to spread the word!

Good luck everyone! I can't wait to see what you come up with!!!

ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a lot of fun!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for inviting me! Excited to see the projects!
ReplyDeleteI'm joining up from Dollar Store crafts. Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteSo I probably should have asked this before entering...but can you explain more about how the contest works? What does it mean to be paired up with one of these ladies? Are there themes we'll be doing? Coming up with our own ideas?
ReplyDeleteOOps! My cookie sheet calendar was made in August. I just re-read the rules! Sorry! Can you delete that one, and I will add another one. Sorry! :)
ReplyDeleteMarni @ Sassy Sites!
Wow! I'm excited for the first "episode".
ReplyDeleteFun idea Tam!! I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!!
ReplyDeleteThis is such an awesome idea! I hope that I get choosed! I am like the Donny Osmond of crafting. Lol I only said that cause that was the only season I watched....
ReplyDeletelove your guts
mandi
p.s. I know choosed isnt a word I hit the D instead of the N and decided it was funny
Only one project submission, right?
ReplyDeletequestion...does it have to be original work? Or can it be something we made from a pattern?
ReplyDeleteWow, there are already so many great entries! Sounds like great fun :). I sew all of my own stuff but I love to follow tutorials. Can I submit something that was based on someone (Jill @ homemade by Jill) else's tutorial or does it need to be completely original?
ReplyDeleteThanks!

Thanks everyone for your questions. Hopefully, all of you received my emails to answer them. I've also updated this post to reflect those answers. You can also see this post for Contest FAQ:

Thanks to all who are entering and GOOD LUCK!!!
Okay so I just read your FAQ and I guess we are only supposed to link one project. I swear I read projects (plural) somewhere and linked up three. ooops. If you want to delete my rag wreath and kids shirts, I'll keep in the theater pillows. Sorry about that!
ReplyDeleteThis is so inspiring! Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to following all the different projects.
See you!
I am so excited for this Contest! It looks like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteP.s. I am a dork and entered a project that was done before Sept.1 (Alphabet Wall Art) and need that one erased! I knew I had read that somewhere the other day, but I had a mild brain fart and picked my most fav project I have featured on my blog! Sorry for the trouble!
This is thrilling! Can't wait to see who wins... Bring it on! Lol.

ReplyDeletenevermind! it's there! sorry ;)
ReplyDeleteDo you have to have a blog to enter? I'm not sure what I am supposed to link it to because I don't have a blog.
ReplyDeleteSounds fun! I think I might have messed up my linky though, hope you dont count it against me for being Mr Linky illiterate =)
ReplyDeleteWhoops, I am notorious for not reading thoroughly. I actually made my cupcake liner pom-poms on August 30th. Should/can I post another project?
