Getting to Know Kelly & Jen

Let's meet Kelly & Jen.

Round 2: Paint - Shipping Crate Date Table

Round 1: Brand Inspired/Knock-Offs - The Somerset Dress

Audition Project - Bustling City Dress

Contestant:

Who was your favorite celebrity as a child?
I was sooo into Elijah Wood when I was little. I loved The Adventures of Huck Finn (surprised by my boys names?). I thought he was just so cute. Then he disappeared for a while then came back with a bang for Lord of the Rings, that was a throw back for me!

What is your favorite color?
While the shade often changes I love Green. When I was little I said it was yellow and orange because I felt bad for them, I thought no one else liked them and that made me sad. But it has always really been green.

What word describes you best?
My husband says Awesome and Rockstaresque.... but I think he is slightly biased. I would say creative, I know, totally lame, especially compared with Rockstaresque.

What is your greatest accomplishment?
Raising 3 kids to be loving, generous and mindful of others. We'll see how that turns out in 15 years :)

What drives you every day?
The need to create. Create fun for my kiddos, create a beautiful environment to live in, create ways to help the developing country I live in.

What is your favorite food?
Ice Cream. Yup, crazy about it. It is easy to keep it in check though when a gallon of vanilla is 16 dollars and Ben and Jerry's covered with freezer burn is 24 dollars.

Where do you like to vacation?
It used to be the beach but now that my house is 30 yards away, I love to visit any sort of metropolis and just go grocery shopping, ahhh grocery stores you are missed :)

Who do you admire?
My husband. He is only 30 and has accomplished so much in his life. He served for our church for 2 years in Brazil, then served in Operation Iraqi freedom for 19 months, graduated law school, cares for 3 children and a wife who would drive most people crazy and works so hard to represent our country in the best possible manner here in East Timor. He is the most patient person I know. He likes everyone and you will never hear him say an unkind word about anyone... okay I should stop I am sure people are gagging ha!

If you were invisible, where would you go?
The White House (Yup I am that big of a nerd)

What is the kindest thing anyone has done for you?
I have a friend Jordan who has done so many acts of kindness for me I have lost count but the one that stands out most in my mind is the morning Finn was born I had put off going to the hospital until the last minute. My hubby came down the stairs with Sawyer and I yelled for him to get in the car. Jordan met us at the hospital in the wee hours of the night and took Sawyer. She took care of him the rest of the day then made sure we had yummy meals to come home to for several days. It was so much easier to enjoy my first days with Finn knowing Sawyer was with someone so kind.

What would you do with a million dollars?
I would pay off our student loans from Law School. Pay off all my families mortgages, build a new beautiful orphanage and start a school for women centered around the arts here in Timor. Pretty sure that would be more then a million but hey while we are dreaming we might as well dream big!

If you had three hours to yourself, what would you do with them?
Sew. Uninterrupted sewing, is there anything more lovely?

Star:

Who was your favorite celebrity as a child?
I always loved Julie McCoy from the Love Boat. When my parents went out sometimes our babysitter would let us stay up and watch that show and I always thought it was so cool how she walked around with that clipboard, organizing everyone on the boat!

What is your favorite color?
I love so many colors! I don't know if I can choose just one. Maybe red or maybe bluish-green?

What word describes you best?
Ummm, I am not sure. Maybe trying to do too many things at once.

What is your greatest accomplishment?
My children.

What drives you every day?
My family and trying to create a beautiful home.

What is your favorite food?
I love, love, love chips and salsa. And Diet Coke. And nothing beats the two of them together = heaven!

Where do you like to vacation?
We love Disneyland, Hawaii is paradise.

Who do you admire?
So many people. Amazing every day moms trying to make the world better.

If you were invisible, where would you go?
????

What is the kindest thing anyone has done for you?
Calling me on a day when I am really down. It's the little things that make the biggest difference.

What would you do with a million dollars?
Donate some to Pancreatic Cancer research.

If you had three hours to yourself, what would you do with them?
Sleep, sleep, sleep - lol.
