Where’s an Actual Project?

Many of you have probably been wondering that very question: why haven’t I seen an actual project recently on Sew Dang Cute?

The truth is I am in the midst of several projects all at once. You would think it would be easier to focus on one project and get it done before I move on to another one, but what can I say, that’s not how I function. I *try* to multi-task.

So what the heck have I been working on? Well the one project that is taking up a large majority of my *spare time* involves 21 charm packs.

What could I possibly be doing with that many 5” squares? (I need 864 to be exact if anyone is counting). I’m moving my girls into a new bedroom, and they are getting new room décor. They love these bright colors, so that’s what we are going with. I’ve got 210 squares down, and I sincerely hope to tackle more in the next few days and crank this baby out. Wish me luck with that one!

I get sick of sitting at my sewing machine, so I’ll take breaks to work on our guest room.

Coat 1 – pretty much just the primer. It was a dark brown before, which doesn’t really go with the yellow/gray color scheme I’m doing in there. I’m really excited for what I’ve got planned, and I think this one should be done this weekend (crossing my fingers), so I hope to reveal this room later this month, as well as all the various things I’ve made to decorate it.

Some of which involve something with this beautiful fabric:

And another something with this frame:

That one was a quick project and I actually finished it last night, so as soon as I can get the tutorial typed up you should be able to see it.

I’ve also been refinishing a dresser for my girls’ new room. We finally got a wave of warmer weather last Saturday, so I spent a few hours in the morning sanding and painting. However, mother nature is not on my side right now and it soon started raining. So we had to quickly haul everything inside and that is where it still sits until the rain/snow stops and I can get back outside to finish.

So you can see I really am trying to make actual projects for you guys to see when you stop by this here blog. I’ll keep plunking away if you guys promise to be patient with me!

Will you keep my spirits alive and share with me what you are currently working on, or what is at the top of your “to-do” list?

Have a great Thursday and thanks for reading!

  1. I have so many things on the brain that I want to work on, but not too many actually in progress aside from a sad I-spy quilt attempt that I keep on wanting to get to and a small embroidery project for a contest over at Prudent Baby. I can't stand to hand sew so that means I really want, to at least try, to win their prize of a embroidery sewing machine.

Love that black and white fabric!

  3. I do the same thing! I can't finish one project without starting a few more! I drive myself nuts with it sometimes. It is fun that way though. I can't wait to see your finished projects!

  4. I am working on every room in my house - or at least it seems that way! I did finish some curtains for T's room but they aren't anything fancy.

  5. I have a pillow to get done this week, a cabinet to paint *stop raining already*, a dessert table to stage/photograph, pictures to take/post/list for my shop, oh, and keep my kids alive. It's a lot to manage. Good luck with all those charm packs- you are an ambitious woman!
