Any Bets?

First I have to tell all of you “thank you”. Thank you so incredibly much for your kind words about my guest bedroom. I appreciated each and every comment and email and am so flattered. You sure know how to make a girl feel good and I’m truly grateful.

As of 6:26 am MST, baby still isn’t here.

Last Wednesday (7 days ago), I was dilated to a 3-4 and 98% effaced. My doctor told me “any day”. Guess what? Those words drive me insane. It’s sort of annoying expecting at any moment you *should* be going into labor, but I’m not holding my breath.

I’ve been trying to finish up as many things as I can. I’m still waiting on my paint to get here so I can refinish the crib and dresser for the nursery. If you follow me on Facebook, you saw that I finally whipped up a car seat canopy.

The fabric is Riley Blake All Star 2. It was my first choice for the crib bedding, but hubs said it looked too feminine. It’s ok if you are confused by that statement. I am as well. I also made one of these blankets for my little guy.

We decided to have one fun-filled family day earlier this week. My sister and her kids joined us for the free factory tour of Sweet’s Candy Factory.

Candy-Factory

We’ve done this tour several times and my kids love it. It’s fascinating to see how all the candy is made (plus the free samples are nice). I highly recommend it if you are ever in the Salt Lake City, Utah area.

We also hit up Hogle Zoo.

I love family days!
Speaking of family, today is my anniversary. 9 years ago I married my best friend.

Wedding Day

I love him.
A.LOT.
He’s the best thing that has ever happened to me. He’s still my best friend and there is no one else I would rather spend my time with. We’ve got three amazing children and soon get to welcome our 4th.

Each of my 3 other children have come exactly 7 days early (39 weeks). My actual due date is July 9th, so I’m sort of just planning on July 2nd. My labors are insanely fast, so my doctor would like to induce me this Saturday, if I haven’t already given birth, to be in as much control of the situation as possible. I have mixed feelings about this.

What’s fast labor? #1 was 2.5 hours, #2 – 1.5 hours, #3 – 20 minutes. I guess we’ll see with this one.

So what’s your bet? When do you think my baby boy will be born? “Any day” right?

Stick around and I’ll keep you posted. Tomorrow I have a big announcement for you guys, so you’ll at least want to come back for that!

Have a great Wednesday!!!

  3. Wow!!! And I thought I was speedy (my last one was 2 hrs) July 2nd is my guess as well. Its kinda funny how that works...I have 3 kids and they were all born on a Wednesday. My son was 4 days over, my daughter 5 day over and my baby was right on her due date, all on Wednesdays.

  4. Good luck. I am due on July 8th and have fast labors too! curious to see what my doctor says today. I used that Riley Blake fabric for my nursury, I accented with lots of orange. I wish I had enough fabric left to make a car seat tent too, I love it.

  11. I go from 4cm to 10 in ONE contraction! So when I hit 4cm I'm on FULL bedrest until 38 weeks. THEN they induce me so I don't have the baby at home! I love being induced, so good luck!

  13. ohhh good luck. :) I have super fast labors, but not that fast!! The last 2 were less than 2 hours (okay, less than 2 hours at the hospital)... and that was scary for me.

I just had my 4th 2 months ago and was induced for the first time. It has been my best recovery and I don't know if it had anything to do with a more controlled situation or if it was just a tender mercy of the Lord. My labor was MUCH longer having been induced, which was kind of hard (aka boring)... there were some pros and cons for me. I don't regret it, but I don't think I'll do it again. So I hope your little ones comes on his own!!!

  14. yay for fast labors! Even if you get induced, I am sure it will go fast. Mine was 14 hours with my new little guy and I would take 20 minutes any day! ;) okay okay with other little kids, that is kind of crazy! I hope all goes well!

I also did my car seat cover in that line and I LOVE it! I don't know if it can get any more BOY! :)

  16. I didn't wind up commenting on the guest room but I LOVE IT. It's one million and a half times better than my master bedroom, which looks like something you'd find in a college dorm. Le Sigh.
I totally am with you, hating on 'any day now' !! BOTH OF MY GIRLS I was 'any day now' for a MONTH. If I am blessed with another pregnancy I am informing the midwife that I will cut her if she says those words.
Uh, verbally cut her. With my words.

  17. Those are super fast labors, especially only 2.5 hrs on your first baby! I am a labor and delivery nurse and those labors are the way to go. It is nice when you can just come in and have a baby without all the waiting. A lot easier to handle pain for a shorter time too. Good luck! I hope he decides to come when you are close to the hospital!
