Guest Blogger: The Striped Summer Blanket by Sada Lewis

Hi there! My name is Sada and I am so excited to be guest posting today!! I'm a lover of photography, graphic design, crafting, and decorating. You can check out all my adventures over on my blog.

I know it is summer time but I still love to snuggle up under a blanket at night on my couch. We were in desperate need of a couple new blankets so I decided to whip some up!

  • 4 yards Light Fleece Fabric (cut in half)
  • Fabric Paint
  • Painters Tape
  • Yarn

You should have 2 pieces of fabric, both 2 yards in length. I decided to only paint one of my pieces of fabric and leave the other blank, so these first steps only apply to the piece you will paint.

I used a mixture of Tulip's Metallic fabric paint in Gold and their soft fabric paint in White.

If you don't know how to make a tassel you can check out this tutorial here.

Make sure you put your tassel where you want it in between the two pieces!

And you're done!

The good news is that it is big enough for two people to snuggle under!

Let me know if you have any questions! You can find my email here.

Thanks so much for having me Tam!!

  1. I think this blanket is so pretty! And I am with you, no matter the time of year - I do love to have a blanket to snuggle up with :)

  2. What a pretty blanket! It looks really cozy, too. Very cool that it's painted. This is such a nice mix of 'fancy' and 'comfy'!
I love blankets. It's way too hot in my house for blankets so I kind of snuggle up to the blanket instead of under it.
