I think we all know that paper crafting is kind of difficult for me. It doesn’t come as easily as things like sewing and DIY projects. I recently received Lifestyle Crafts new die cuts “Be Spooked. Be Stuffed”. They are fabulous shapes, and I had a lot of fun with them because they challenged me to work outside my comfort zone and push my creativity.
I was immediately drawn to the spiders. If you haven’t ever used the Epic 6 Letterpress (one of the PRIZES in the “Crafting with the Stars” competition BTW), here’s a breakdown of how it works.
I also received a die cut that had foam on it. I wasn’t sure what the foam meant, so I ran it through with some paper and it worked just like a regular die.
Someone help me out here if I’m missing something about the foam.
I loved the spider web, but didn’t know how to use it. I guess it would be a great border for scrapbook pages, but I don’t scrapbook, so I was figured I needed to wrap it around something. This got my brain thinking of bottles, like a drink, but that seemed a little too classy for Halloween. Then I remembered that Amy of The Idea Room used mason jars HERE, and mason jars seemed much more appropriate for Halloween.
I spraypainted the jars gray, then started sticking everything on. For the tag I used nesting circles and nesting scallops.
I have to say that while this might not seem like a big thing to some of you, I’m pretty pleased with it. I made something with paper and actually like it. I think these jars will be fun to use at our Halloween party.
Look how cute some of the other dies in the set are:
They even have Thanksgiving die cuts in this set:

And since I know you all want a delicious holiday drink to put in the jars, here’s the cider recipe. Actually, I’m not a huge fan of cider by itself so it’s wassail, and it’s yummy!
Spider Cider (Wassail)
1 gallon apple cider
27 whole cloves
8 cinnamon sticks
1 quart pineapple juice
1 can (6 oz) frozen orange juice concentrate
Mix all ingredients in a large crock-pot or pan and simmer. Stir pot. Serve hot.
