Laughter is a Beautiful Thing

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of American Family Insurance for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I'm going to veer away from crafting today, because I want to share something that I think sometimes gets lost or forgotten about in our busy lives - just having fun with good-old fashioned laughter. We can all use some laughter in our lives, right?

I really debated about doing this post at all, because I didn't think I should. But I kept getting this nagging feeling that maybe I should share it because, who knows, this could be exactly what one of you guys needed - a good, clean laugh.

There are people who actually make a career out of making people laugh. Do you guys remember Jerry Seinfeld? My husband absolutely loves the TV show Seinfeld, and we frequently watch the re-runs. He will laugh and laugh. I'll admit, it's pretty funny. Jerry was a stand-up comedian, and a good one.

On the other hand, have you noticed these days that most stand-up comedy is shown on channels like HBO? Channels that allow  language and content that aren't exactly family-friendly.

I won't watch it, and I certainly won't let my children watch it.

Well if you are the type that enjoys standup comedy (but without the inapproriate material), this just might be for you.

American Family Insurance has worked with several comedians to put together some videos "for families of all ages to enjoy, and is designed to align with American Family Insurance’s commitment to supporting and adding value to consumers’ lives."

I went ahead and visited Stand Up For Family to check out some of the videos for myself. Most are right around 2 minutes, so it doesn't take too long to watch them.

Some of the ones I enjoyed were:

Still Free by Bill Bellamy

This one reminded me of the fun playground games that I used to play when I was little. Games like freeze tag.

Poppin' by Rodney

One thing I liked about this was how people used to simply enjoy dancing and would smile about it. They could brush it off if someone bumped into them, instead of picking a fight.

Football by Donnell Rawlings

The part about this video that I liked is the beginning before he starts talking about football,  where he pokes fun at how cautious we get as we get older when sitting down vs. being carefree and jumping all over the place as a kid.

Feel free to check out more of these videos by AmFam. There are about 24 different ones.

Then hopefully, I helped some of you enjoy some good, clean comedy today!
