July Jamboree

It’s a brand new event!!!
Starting tomorrow, I’m taking a maternity leave from blogging.
But don’t you worry.
I’ve lined up an entire month of guest posters to share brand new tutorials and projects with you. That’s right! You get something new EVERY DAY from some of my favorite bloggers.
I’m calling this event “July Jamboree”.

Any Bets?

First I have to tell all of you “thank you”. Thank you so incredibly much for your kind words about my guest bedroom. I appreciated each and every comment and email and am so flattered. You sure know how to make a girl feel good and I’m truly grateful.

As of 6:26 am MST, baby still isn’t here.

Last Wednesday (7 days ago), I was dilated to a 3-4 and 98% effaced. My doctor told me “any day”. Guess what? Those words drive me insane. It’s sort of annoying expecting at any moment you *should* be going into labor, but I’m not holding my breath.

I’ve been trying to finish up as many things as I can. I’m still waiting on my paint to get here so I can refinish the crib and dresser for the nursery. If you follow me on Facebook, you saw that I finally whipped up a car seat canopy.

The fabric is Riley Blake All Star 2. It was my first choice for the crib bedding, but hubs said it looked too feminine. It’s ok if you are confused by that statement. I am as well. I also made one of these blankets for my little guy.

We decided to have one fun-filled family day earlier this week. My sister and her kids joined us for the free factory tour of Sweet’s Candy Factory.

We’ve done this tour several times and my kids love it. It’s fascinating to see how all the candy is made (plus the free samples are nice). I highly recommend it if you are ever in the Salt Lake City, Utah area.

We also hit up Hogle Zoo.

I love family days!
Speaking of family, today is my anniversary. 9 years ago I married my best friend.

Wedding Day

I love him.
A.LOT.
He’s the best thing that has ever happened to me. He’s still my best friend and there is no one else I would rather spend my time with. We’ve got three amazing children and soon get to welcome our 4th.

Each of my 3 other children have come exactly 7 days early (39 weeks). My actual due date is July 9th, so I’m sort of just planning on July 2nd. My labors are insanely fast, so my doctor would like to induce me this Saturday, if I haven’t already given birth, to be in as much control of the situation as possible. I have mixed feelings about this.

What’s fast labor? #1 was 2.5 hours, #2 – 1.5 hours, #3 – 20 minutes. I guess we’ll see with this one.

So what’s your bet? When do you think my baby boy will be born? “Any day” right?

Stick around and I’ll keep you posted. Tomorrow I have a big announcement for you guys, so you’ll at least want to come back for that!

Have a great Wednesday!!!

My Finished Guest Bedroom!!!!!

Wow this has been a long time coming! You guys ready for it?! I know I am!

The Finished Guest Bedroom
Guest-Bedroom

I L.O.V.E. it!!! (Probably because of the yellow, remember it’s my favorite color?) It was a lot of work, but everytime I walk in there, it makes me so happy and all the time and effort were worth it.

Let’s do a recap of what exactly is in this room, shall we?

It all started with my decorative plate. See it sitting over on the nightstand?

Next came the duvet cover.

Followed by some throw pillows - Sunny Side Up,

and more recently, the Round Rosette pillow.

After painting 12” stripes on the walls, they needed some décor - “Keep Calm and Carry On” sign,

The DIY Cornice {No Sew Fabric-Covered Valance} and drapes from IKEA make up the window treatment.

That just leaves the Shutters Headboard.
