Vacation Destination: Newport Beach

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Newport Beach for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
One of my neighbors and friends absolutely LOVES Newport Beach. Every year she and her family vacation there. She comes back telling me how beautiful the beaches are, how lovely the weather is, how the food was absolutely delicious, and so on.
She already had me thinking that I needed to go there, but after looking at the website, Newport Beach, I'm 100% convinced! This site offers all the information I need to plan my trip: where to eat, where to stay, what to do, etc.

With some of the cleanest beaches in Southern California, I definitely want to head to the coast and hang out all day. I've always wanted to learn how to surf, so what better place to try it than "The Wedge", one of the best surfing spots in Southern California!
Since this will be a family vacation, I love that there is a large selection of family-friendly restaurants! Of course, it might be worth it to find a sitter and enjoy a "dock and dine" evening along Newport Harbor with my husband!

My husband travels frequently with work and is a member of Hyatt's Gold Passport program, so we would most likely stay at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach hotel. With 4 kids, I love that we can buy one room at full price and receive a connecting room for the kids at 50% off!

So what do you guys think?

  1. You crack me up. Newport beach and balboa island is a great vacay. I grew up very close to this area. I loved going on little cruises around balboa island. The food is great. Love the old spegetti factory. I'm sure things have changed in the last 10 yrs. but it is probably for the better. Ps fashion island is always fun to walk around.

  2. I love Newport! That's the beach we grew up going to. We're in San Diego now and the first thing I noticed when we moved is how dirty the beaches are compared to Newport! If you go, and you should!, you should go up to Huntington Beach and down to Laguna as well. I hope you book your trip and enjoy every moment!

  3. Oh my gosh, you cannot go wrong going to Newport. It is probably my favorite vacation place ever.

  4. Newport is one of my favorite family vacations spots! We love renting a beach house and spending a week there. In the summer The Wedge is really fun for body surfing. The little kids like going to Huntington Beach. There are so many amazing beaches in Newport.

  5. I used to live in Huntington Beach, CA and I worked in Newport Beach. I love love love love love SoCal. I would move back in a heartbeat if given the opportunity. :)

  6. We used to live about 15 minutes (w/o traffic) from the Newport Beach beaches. I had two favorite places. One to go with kids. One to go without. We live in Boston now and I sure do miss my beaches. :-)

  7. I've been going to New Port Beach and Balboa Island since I was a kid!! It's my FAVORITE vacation spot. We usually rent a beach house, but we have stayed at the Hyatt. It's a great hotel on a small marina, but you will have to drive to the actual beach if that's something you want to do. The "wedge" is about a 10 min drive from there. Fashion Island is real close to where you will be staying if you want to go shopping or try Sprinkles cupcakes! The fun zone and ferry are fun for kids, and I highly reccomend the sunset cruse and harbor cruse to look at all of the beautiful homes. Have fun!!!
